Alishah, a law student shares her story about the wonderful support she has received at The University of Sheffield.

Alishah, a LLB law student shares the numerous opportunities she has received at The University of Sheffield.

Alishah has always aspired to become a successful Criminal Law Barrister and has made the right choice by studying LLB at The University of Sheffield. The LLB Law course at The University of Sheffield is providing  her with classes on the fundamentals of law practice in the UK and specialist modules around concepts of criminal liability and thereby she is developing an enquiring attitude towards the practice of criminal process.

Her experience at the university has been really amazing as she had the opportunity to apply for a pro-bono case as part of her degree, working with a real law practise to provide legal representation in high impact innocence cases. She has also worked with a team to review police transcripts, statements and documents, and investigate the things that didn’t make sense, to help the defendant appeal their case.

The University of Sheffield gave her an incredible experience to participate in the Nuremberg Moot Court Competition, where she and her team prepared a case and presented it in an international criminal court. This gave her the opportunity to interact with real judges and learn new skills while studying.

The University of Sheffield’s all course material, articles and blogs are just a click away and has helped her while working for home during the pandemic. The support from a personal tutor provided by the university has helped her in enhancing her skills and knowledge that shall be  needed to become a successful lawyer in future.
