Artificial Intelligence and Indian link at the Swansea University you should know

In today’s modern world AI is extending its frontier in technology and knowledge in various industries globally. As per a PwC report, Artificial Intelligence will contribute $ 15. Trillion in global economic growth by the year 2030. Those who’ll take the lead now will get the biggest share of pie. Swansea University’s department of AI has been at the forefront of global revolution and has received fundings from the UK government in the past. 

 

One of the major contributors for the success of the AI department is Professor Yogesh K. Dwivedi – Professor of Digital Marketing & Innovation, Founding Director of the Emerging Markets Research Centre (EMaRC) and Co-Director of Research at the School of Management, at Swansea University.

 

Professor Dwivedi completed his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Information Systems at Brunel University London (UK), an M.Sc. in Plant Genetic Resources at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (New Delhi, India) and his B.Sc. (with Botany, Zoology and Chemistry) at the University of Allahabad (Prayagraj, India).

 

Professor Dwivedi is a highly cited researcher – 2020 by Clarivate – is a global leader in providing trusted insights and analytics. He was also selected as one the top 5 finalists for the Outstanding Research Supervisor of the year – 2017, this award is part of the prestigious annual Times Higher Education Awards. Apart from being listed as a top 50 researcher within the Guide to Research Rankings for Computer Science in the UK. He has published and co-authored many research articles across the world in a range of leading academic journals and conferences that are widely cited (more than 17 thousand times as per Google Scholar). He has co-edited/co-authored more than 20 books on technology adoption, e-government, Information Systems theory, e-Word of Mouth and social media which have been published by international publishers such as Chandos Publishing (an imprint of Elsevier), Springer, Chapman and Hall/CRC Press, Routledge and Emerald. He is also currently leading the International Journal of Information Management as its Editor-in-Chief.

He is a true life-long learner and undertakes relevant practitioner training and certifications such as PRINCE2®, ITIL®, Google Garage which ensures all his teachings to the students is well informed and credible as per modern trends. In his last 15 years of experience he has taught and assessed a range of successful graduates in Business Information Systems, Digital Marketing, Electronic Commerce, IS Management & Planning, IT Service Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, E-Business and Managing Processes fields.
