Ulster University Joins Hands With NUIT, UL & GMIT for Atlantic Innovation Corridor Research Project

Ulster University is a vast university in Northern Ireland with a large number of students from all across the world. It provides a sophisticated environment to the students & has partnered with various other universities for educational & research purposes.

Recently, the National University of Ireland, Galway & GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) stated that they’re looking forward to forming a partnership with Ulster University & the University of Limerick for Atlantic Innovation Corridor research project which revolves around regional development.

This €4 million project focuses on varied themes ranging from rural & female entrepreneurship, ecosystem to mental health. It’s also considered an important segment of the ‘Shared Island North-South Research Programme’ which comprises numerous research programmes in relevance with sustainable regional development for North-West, West & Mid West regions of Ireland.

Professor Jim Livesey ( Vice President Research & Innovation – NUI Galway) said that being a ‘Principal Investigator’ for this research project he knows its valuable significance. He also said that this massive project on social science will lead to the development of a resource, essential for the entire region of Ireland & the UK. According to him, this innovative research in collaboration with GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) , University of Limerick & Ulster University would also benefit them for producing engaging research & would guide them about the transitions, digital life, greenery & energy components revolving around the surroundings.

This research project will form a strong base & will let everyone share their insights & experiences in Europe & across the other regions of the globe. This could be beneficial for regions that exhibit rough history & borders but are looking forward to making spectacular progress in the future.

72% of the research from Ulster University is rated as world-leading or internationally excellent in the (REF) Research Excellence Framework 2014. It’s also ranked under the ‘Top 5’ universities in the UK for world-leading research in law, biomedical sciences, nursing & design by Research Excellence Framework ( REF) 2014 & eventually these results showcase that Ulster University is a good research partner to work with.

Norelee Kennedy ( Vice President & Research Professor – University of Limerick ) asserted that they’re highly ecstatic about this collaboration with NUI, Ulster University & GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) as this would let them explore the aspects of entrepreneurship in rural areas, business acceleration facet in the Atlantic Corridor along with the challenges and opportunities arising during the implementation of innovation in the smaller regions. He also said that their university will support the association throughout the research journey and everyone would work together to execute successful results.
