Course Eligibility

Key Eligibility Requirements: BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science with Professional Placement. 

  • Class 12: Average mark of 85%- 90% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects)
  • CBSE, CISCE, or a state board or equivalent: Includes grade A or above in A-Level Mathematics, excluding General Studies. (Grades AAA at A-Level)
  • IB board- International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 36 - 34 points overall, including 6,6,6 - 6,6,5 from three Higher Level subjects. This must include Mathematics at Higher Level. 
  • QMUL also considers either mathematics, applications, and interpretation, or mathematics along with analysis and approaches from the higher level. (Slight waiver may be applicable)
  • Candidates with relevant work experience and good academic potential are also encouraged to apply for the BSc (Hons) Sustainable Development programme.

Exams: English language requirements

  • IELTS grade - An IELTS score of 6.0 overall, including 5.5 in Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking, or an equivalent acceptable qualification.

Professional Placement

  • When you Apply for the Actuarial Science BSc with Professional Placement to spend a year carrying out paid work in the financial sector as part of your degree, you will enable yourself to stand out from the crowd and secure graduate employment, a placement, which is an excellent opportunity to develop your business skills and put your learning into context.

Year abroad

  • When you apply for the Actuarial Science BSc with a Year Abroad, you shall enable yourself for global exposure and the chance to study abroad as part of your degree.

Queen Mary Global Excellence Scholarships (UG) 

  •  Queen Mary Global Excellence Scholarships worth 2000 GBP are for outstanding undergraduate students entering the Faculty of Science and Engineering. 
  • This is intended to attract the most talented students from around the world to study at the university.

Important Details

  • This scholarship is worth £2,000 for the first year of study only. The scholarship will be deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the university for the first year of your studies. 
  • To be eligible to receive the scholarship, students must have achieved overseas equivalents of grades A*AA at A-Level (in the subjects specified in the offer).
  • No separate application for this scholarship is required. Successful candidates will be informed of their award via email notification from the Science and Engineering Faculty Department at QMUL.

Children of Alumni Loyalty Award 

The Children of Alumni Loyalty Award is for children of international alumni enrolling for a full-time programme for 1000 pounds with self-funding criteria.

  • They should be a child of Queen Mary alumnus
  • Should pay at least £1000 of your fees (i.e., not total sponsored)

Queen Mary Music Scholarships

  • QMUL Music Scholarships is a strand of scholarships established in 2014. 
  • The scholarship will contribute to the cost of instrumental or vocal tuition for successful scholars for up to a maximum of three years, dependent on satisfactory progress.
