Course Eligibility

Key Eligibility Requirements: MSc Investment and Finance

  • Bachelors - The minimum entry requirement is a 2.1 Honours degree (Minimum 60% average) from selected institutions in any subject, provided the degree contains a satisfactory study of Mathematics and Statistics. 
  • Subjects likely to have sufficient quantitative elements include Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, and Finance.
  • Students from less quantitatively oriented degrees, such as Accounting, Management, and Politics, are welcome if they have focused on the more quantitative elements of those degrees.
  • Candidates that do not currently meet the set entry requirements may also have the option to study the Graduate Diploma in Finance and Economics. 
  • Meeting the required grades on completing this programme will provide a pathway to study MSc Investment and Finance.
  • Offer conditions will vary depending on the institution you're applying from.
  • For India, offers may be made on the GPA scale.
  • We do not consider the Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc.) for Masters entry.
  • Candidates with relevant work experience and good academic potential are also encouraged to apply for this programme.

There are four compulsory taught modules plus one of two quantitative modules. You have the option to choose between a combination of three elective modules and dissertation of (7,000 words) OR a combination five of elective modules and research project of (2,500 words)

  • The Economics and Finance Postgraduate Scholarships are 16 scholarships worth £3,000 which are rewarded to outstanding students enrolling for a full-time Master's program in the School of Economics and Finance at QMUL.

Important Details

  • No requirement of separate application form for the Economics and Finance Postgraduate Scholarship.
  • Students will be selected for the award based on the information they provide in their online application to the Queen Mary University of London. 
  • Successful candidates will be informed about the scholarship via email notification from the School of Economics and Finance office.

Queen Mary Alumni Loyalty Award 

  • The Queen Mary Alumni Loyalty Award is a £1000 award open to all Queen Mary graduates enrolling for a postgraduate degree programme except those rewarded with full scholarships.

Important Details

  • £1000 or 20% discount depending on the programme of study.
  • Anyone undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the Queen Mary University of London is eligible for this scholarship.
  • This discount is automatically applied upon enrolment.

Commonwealth Master's Scholarships

  •  The Commonwealth Master's Scholarships are 100 % tuition fee scholarships for candidates from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries for full-time study at a UK university.

Important Details

  • You must also apply to QMUL for admission to the Masters's programme and make an application for the scholarship.
