University of York tops amongst the Russell Group Universities in the NSS 2022 for Overall Satisfaction category in Academic Experience

Out of all Russell Group of UK universities the ‘University of York’ has been ranked 7th in the UK and has scored 80% for the “Overall Satisfaction” category which is a 2% rise as compared to the percentage achieved by York last year. It also secured 3rd rank in the “Learning Resources, Organisation & Management” category amongst the other Russell Group Universities which is a glorious moment for them.

If we talk about department-wise achievement this year then there are 9 leading departments (Natural, Sciences, Biosciences, French, Marketing, Genetics, Biology, Psychology, Philosophy, Physical Geographical Sciences) which secured 90% and above in the “Overall Satisfaction” category in the results published by NSS 2022. Apart from this other subjects such as Law, English, Music, Forensic & Archaeological Sciences, Genetics, Mental Health Nursing, and Environmental Sciences also made it to the list & all of them attained different rankings in the results published by NSS 2022.

On this achievement secured by the University of York; Professor Tracy Lightfoot (Vice-chancellor ~ Teaching, Learning & Students) stated that the NSS results are proof of how hard academic professionals work at the university to provide the best education to the students studying here at York. From advanced learning methods, and optimized laboratories to spacious classrooms there are so many facilities students get to access easily at the university. He also said that the university has been continuously providing fantastic academic facilities to all its students & will continue doing the same.

In addition, he further said that due to lockdown education had taken a backseat but even then the ‘University of York’ was sincerely committed to providing a supportive learning environment to the students for strengthening their proficiency in different subjects. Apart from this, the university had also pledged to resume all the offline classes with a bang post the lockdown was uplifted with promising facilities whilst maintaining all the necessary social distancing & covid precautions. With the resume of the offline classes, it was seen that the academic graph of the students accelerated rapidly as they focused more during the classroom lectures. As a result, grades were improvised & maximum percentage of the undergraduate (UG) & postgraduate (PG) students exhibited outstanding results.

As per his accounts, the teaching & learning methods implemented by the university are remarkable.
