Recently, Sheffield Hallam University has collaborated with FDM Group (Professional Service Provider) for an apprenticeship programme that aims to develop 500 new jobs for the students. Those students who join this programme are allowed to pursue degree-level education alongside pursuing the training delivered during this programme.

As the programme has been split into various stages so then the former stage of the programme is being worked upon in partnership with ‘Sheffield Hallam University’ in which FDM Group expects the university to sign a basic agreement in London and complete the remaining professional formalities. In addition, FDM Group is also looking forward to signing the apprenticeship programme agreement with various other universities in London & other countries too.

Known as a beneficial addition for the career growth of the students, this programme would work on a 50:50 gender split as various candidates would arrive with less respected backgrounds. This measure is implemented by both parties so that everyone is treated with uttermost respect throughout the programme.

Those candidates who enrol for this programme or wish to pursue one in the future get trained with relevant skills required to succeed in IT roles. In addition, candidates are also provided with the liberty to study Level 6 ( BSc in Digital & Technology Professional Apprenticeship) – an informative course approved by government authorities. Once a candidate completes or clears the Level 1 Stage then he/she can specialise in the key areas of the IT sector,i.e, Consultancy, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Data Science & many more.

Rod Flavell (Chief Executive at FDM Group) spoke on the fact that so far he’s seen several candidates from underespected backgrounds don’t have access to education due to weak financial background issues which sum up to be a major problem after the sudden outburst of a global pandemic all across the globe. He also stated that with this apprenticeship programme strives to provide students with a real bunch of fully funded degree level education & IT industry experience which eventually shapes the candidates as successful working individuals.

In the same context, Joe Hockney ( Employer Partnerships Manager) from the Sheffield Hallam University said that everyone is extremely proud of the partnership formed with the FDM Group as this would lead to bringing in new talent from diversified backgrounds into the technical domain. It also goes along with the ‘Transforming Live Strategy’ developed by the university.
