Post Study Work Visa Eligibility Criteria

Every international student who has completed their graduation, Post-Graduation or Ph.D. degree from a recognized institution in the UK by a prestigious university will be eligible for the Post Study work Visa for a maximum of 2 years.

  • To be eligible for a Graduate visa, you need to have successfully completed the course you took with your current Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa.
  • You need to have studied your course in the UK for at least 12 months or the full length of your course.
  • You must also be in the UK when you apply for a Graduate visa.

This will also include students who have valid immigration status and have completed a valid education qualification in the country itself

  • Valid Passport: Depicting the Nationality of the Student 
  • Biometric Residence Permit: Given once when you applied for your Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa. This can be used to confirm your: identity. right to study,  or work in the UK.

Most UK Universities mostly exempt Indian students from taking an IELTS exam as English is a primary language of instruction in most Indian universities. An IELTS exam may not be mandatory for the Post Study Work Visa.In case, the candidate is from another country following are the requirements mentioned below.

  • International students who have completed their PhD degree from the UK can stay there for 1 year after completing their degrees.
  • Those students who didn't graduate in the English Language need to sit for the IELTS exam.
  • One should score within the band of 6.5 in each of the four components in the IELTS examination. 
  • UK Work Visa for Indians is provided to those students who seek employment within 1 year after completing their studies in the UK.
  • Students from India who have authentic proof of immigration status can also apply for a post-study work visa.
  • Separate immigration applications also need to be submitted, including Visa fee (£700) & Immigration Health Surcharge (£624 per year) by the students.
